Comic News: 5 Best Video Games Based on Comic Books
Some of the best video games out there are based on written materials. Don’t you believe me? Just think of how many games and movies are based on the Lord Of The Rings books written by Tolkien. Lord of the Rings, Warcraft, Battle for Wesnoth are only some of the most well-known examples.
I’m not going to give you any comic news. Instead, I’m going to tell you which games I consider to be the best games that were based on comic books.
The following are the best video games based on comic books:
#1: X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Some people didn’t like the movie. I personally enjoy it a lot with the exception of the ending. The ending was unexpected and it left me in the air. The movie itself is based on a comic book series called Marvel Comics which is a multi billion dollars company. One thing that I enjoyed tremendously was their high quality graphic system. It’s quite impressive.
#2: Batman: Arkham Asylum

This game impresses through three major features: the story, the weapons used and the high quality graphics. Plus, it’s fun and engaging. I personally enjoy tremendously Diablo and if you do the same, I’m sure that you will also like Batman – Arkham Asylum.
#3: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Marvil is one of the companies that generates more comic news per square foot than any other in the world. Marvel has tens of great playable characters. Imagine all of these characters in the same game with the option of choosing any of them to command in role playing missions. This is probably the best game ever created in terms of playing potential. The characters of this game surely had to be created by a crew of people. Marvel – Ultimate Alliance could have never been an indy comic because of its complexity.
#4: The Punisher

This is a game for a person who believes that through amassing more arms than his enemy, he will surely be able to blow anyone who stands in his way. The game is less strategic and more tactical. At first, I believed that the game was based on an indy comic book because of its lonely main character. I was mistaken. The game is based on a high quality Marvel comic book.
#5: Spider-Man 2

If you enjoy swinging from building to building, this game is for you. It’s also for you if you want to dominate the sky, beat the bad guys, save the day and get the girl. This version of the game comes with some hardcore graphics and new physics rules. To actually make the spider jump smoothly, you need a lot of brains and a badass algorithm. I’m glad that the makers were able to pull it off. The villain bosses that you will encounter are hard to defeat and they will make for a great and challenging fight.
Obviously, finding the best video games is not an easy task. You may agree with some of my game choices. I welcome different opinions and this is why I encourage you to compile your own list of games based on comic books and on other written materials.
